The following quotes were made by Laetitia at 2001 Worlds. Originally from the Official Worlds Web Site.
After the Qualifying Round (in which she placed 6th):
"I was very surprised that I wasn't sent to Europeans. They (the French Federation)
decided three days before the departure that I'm not ready to skate well enough for the
top eight." (On her performance in the qualifying) "I felt terrorized out there. I was slow, I
slowed down, to make sure I'd land my jumps. I did a little turn on the second flip, but it
wasn't a big mistake. You could see that I was focusing very much on everything I was
doing. That took away from my presentation."
After the Short Program (17th):
(On missing the triple toe-triple toe combination) "I don't really know why I missed it.
Maybe I was too quick going into it. I don't know. When you make a mistake at the
beginning it is hard to feel good about the rest of the performance. I have dropped in
position. It is very hard." (Thoughts going into the free program) "I'll just go in and skate it."
After the free skate (17th):
"It was difficult for me to skate after the short program. I didn't understand why I was
ranked so low in the short. My practices here have been going very well, and my right
ankle didn't hurt the last two weeks. I didn't do many competitions, because my
federation didn't send me. They thought I'm not ready. The judges didn't see me for two
years. I think you can see that I'm coming back."
